Inspired by the true story of the NGO Jugend Rettet and its rescue ship, Iuventa. A group of young Berliners crowdfund and restore a trawler to rescue thousands of refugees risking their lives at sea, eventually saving over 23,000 people before facing legal battles with European authorities.
